PREPAREDNESS FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

When a team goes for a match with the opponent, it sits down to see how well its team can stand against the strength of its opponents. They measure their strengths and weaknesses. Similarly, when a man applies for an interview, he crosschecks to see whether he matches the company’s requirements. Jesus too in the gospel mentions that when a man starts to build a house, he sits down to see whether he can complete it. So too when we want to do something, we prepare enough to fulfil it. Planning is one of the most crucial aspects of our life. We always tend to plan for the future. Things of our daily affairs matter more to us, for we have a strong will to live contended. If passing things do mean a lot to us then, what blocks us when it comes to things of the spirit?

The readings of the day give a wake-up call to start preparing for things that we consider unimportant. a famous saying goes this way, it is better to do, than later to regret. The evil feeling of complacency with the low degree of life actually destroys us every moment. We are all called for a higher form of life, we are called to love Him, to serve Him, and to be with Him. But how shall we start preparing? It is quite simple; we have to do only two things. Love the Lord our God with all our strength heart and mind, and others as ourselves. A God who is not pleased with all the wealth and service, falls for our love. If we truly love someone with all our heart, there is not an instance where we would hurt them. So also applies in this case.

Ignorance is a hindrance in any type of growth and so it is with many Christians in their spiritual life and intimacy with God. It is time to buckle up, start working and prepare for the rest. This is the rest, which God desires to provide after a long journey in the world. Let us try to surrender ourselves to the will of God and the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Make love our only instrument in attaining everlasting life.

Response: Never forget the deeds of God!.
