JESUS IS THE TRUTH OF LIFE
Humanity is the greatest creation of God on this earth. In our lives as humans there are ups and downs, happiness and sadness. Living our most authentic self and performing daily tasks that bring us peace and joy gives us the greatest happiness and satisfaction. This is only possible with the help of our Lord Jesus Christ. In today’s first reading, we find the apostles healing the people in the name of Jesus. This stirred up the envy of the authorities who ordered them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered them, “whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge” (Acts 4:18-19)
In the gospel, Jesus commissions his disciples to go and announce the Gospel to the whole world. The theme of the day is Jesus is the truth of life; let us understand what the truth about Jesus is. Pope Francis tells us in his Apostolic Exhortation ‘Christus Vivit’, The great message for all young people contains three great truths that all of us need constantly to keep hearing.
The first great truth is that God is love and God loves you. The Pope wishes to tell each and every person that it doesn’t matter who they are or what they have done in their lives in the past because the truth is that, at every moment we are infinitely loved by God.
The second great truth is that Christ saves you. The Pope reminds us that we must know and remember that Christ out of love sacrificed himself completely in order to save us.
The third great truth is Christus Vivit: Christ is alive. The Pope wants the young people to know and remember that Christ is alive he is fully alive. For young people, Christ is not a model from a distant past. He is alive today and is with us now he fills us with his love. Let us proclaim to the whole world that Christ is the Truth of our lives.
