WEDNESDAY, TWENTY NINTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME<\/strong><\/p>\r\n \u00a0<\/strong>Eph 3: 2-12;\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Is 12: 2-6;\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Lk 12: 39-48<\/strong><\/p>\r\n \u00a0<\/p>\r\n BEING READY<\/strong><\/p>\r\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n \u201cBe ready,\u201d Jesus tells us today. He compares human life to servants waiting for their master to return. They do not know the hour, but they remain faithful because they love and trust their master. A little boy once asked his mother, \u201cWhen is Grandpa coming home?\u201d She replied, \u201cI don\u2019t know the exact time, but let us keep the house clean and supper ready.\u201d The boy happily helped prepare everything. When Grandpa finally arrived, he was welcomed with joy. They were ready not because they knew the hour, but because they loved the one who was coming. This is exactly what Jesus asks of us. Christian life is not about living in fear of the end. It is about living every day with love, faithfulness, and hope. Every moment is an opportunity to welcome Christ: in prayer, in the Eucharist, in our families, and especially in those who are poor, lonely, and suffering.<\/p>\r\n \u00a0<\/p>\r\n Jesus also reminds us that \u201cmuch will be required of the person entrusted with much.\u201d God has entrusted each of us with precious gifts: our faith, our family, our talents, our time, and our resources. These are not possessions to keep for ourselves but blessings to be shared. The question at the end of life will not be, \u201cHow much did you own?\u201d but \u201cHow faithfully did you love and serve?\u201d Many people wait for a great opportunity to do something for God. But holiness is built through ordinary faithfulness: a kind word, an honest day\u2019s work, forgiveness offered, a prayer said with sincerity, a helping hand to a neighbour. These simple acts prepare us for the Lord\u2019s coming.<\/p>\r\n \u00a0<\/p>\r\n Today, let us ask ourselves: If Christ came today, would He find me living with faith, compassion, and integrity? Would He find me awake to the needs of others? Let us not postpone our conversion. Every sunrise is God\u2019s invitation to begin again. Every Eucharist strengthens us to be faithful servants. And every act of love prepares us to hear the master say: \u201cWell done, good and faithful servant.
